Books designed to be read together

THE BRIGHTTAILS is written for shared reading. The mysteries are solvable, the language is unhurried, and every page gives an adult something to point at and ask about.

  • Curiosity

Every story starts with a question a child could plausibly ask on a walk.

  • Observation

Clues are visual and physical — tracks, feathers, light, sound — so children practise looking closely.

  • Teamwork

No single Brighttail solves anything alone. Different strengths matter, including the smallest voice.

  • Respect for wildlife

Animals are observed, never handled or owned. Distance is part of the adventure.

Reading together

Try pausing before the reveal and asking what your child has noticed. The Activities pages turn the same habit into a short walk, a drawing or a page of notes.
