Book 01
The Blue Feather
A single feather. A whole valley of questions.
The morning begins like any other at Brighttail Lodge — until Pip finds something small and impossibly blue lying in the dust by the veranda steps.
Nobody recognises it. So the Brighttails do what they always do: they look closer. They compare, they sketch, they follow the trail from the acacia grove to the water's edge, gathering clues as the light changes across the valley.
The Blue Feather is a first lesson in observation — that answers rarely arrive all at once, and that noticing carefully is a skill anyone can practise.

Locations in this story
Brighttail Lodge
Home base. A timber veranda, a dusty step, and the place where almost every Brighttail adventure begins.
The Great Acacia
The oldest tree in the valley, wide enough to shade the whole group. Birds gather here at first light.
The Whistling Trail
A narrow sand path between the grasses. It holds prints beautifully — which is exactly why it matters.
Kijani Water
The still green pool at the heart of the valley. Everything comes here eventually, if you wait quietly enough.
